
Addis Ababa 2026 – Regional Meeting
ICMICA-Pax Romana is organising a regional session on ‘Reimagining the Role of Catholic Lay in Africa’ in line with its spirituality of action, from 1 to 2 May 2026 at Don Bosco Gotera. Aet Vice – Province Catholic Church, ዶን ቦስኮ ጎተራ የካቶሊክ ቤተ ክርስቲያን, Chirkos 04, Addis Ababa (Ethiopia).
The regional session involves two subsessions:
The second sub-session, to take from 1 to 2 May 2026, will involve strategic planning, aimed at defining the long-term direction of the movement including how it will achieve its goals in line with its spirituality of Action.
The first part of the sub-session will involve two virtual preparatory sessions that will be held between March and April 2026, will provide a theological reflection on the proposed theme in preparation for the in-person session in Addis Ababa.

Food Security and Poverty Reduction – Burundi
To contribute to the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and to explore the appropriate strategies to fight against poverty and food insecurity in Africa, PAX ROMANA ICMICA launched a project entitled “Promoting food security and poverty reduction in Burundi” and engaged its partners and members from different countries to find strategic responses to address issues. This project benefited 30 from Bubanza Province Burundi.

Food Security and Climate Action –Mbeya Tanzania
To contribute to the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and to explore the appropriate strategies to fight food insecurity and climate change in Tanzania, PAX ROMANA ICMICA and its partners from Mbeya, Tanzania, joined hands to support the vulnerable groups to bring their contributions to address issues. This project was piloted with 50 farmers from Mbalizi Mbeya, Tanzania. It was implemented in partnership with Rikolto Mbeya.

Clean Water Project – Mali and Tanzania
Between 2023 and 2024, Pax Romana has managed to drill 04 boreholes (one in Mwyiendaje village Dodoma Tanzania, two in Kwahemu Dodoma Tanzania, and another one in Prakuy village Touba Mali) and one shallow well in Mpuguso Mbeya Tanzania. This initiative is to help communities mitigate the impact of climate change on farming activities and increase access to safe and clean drinking water.

Climate Actions – Dodoma Tanzania
Since 2023, the project on “Community actors coming together to address climate change in Tanzania” has reached around 150 families from Haneti Dodoma Tanzania. The intervention focused on building the capacities of smallholder farmers (youth and households) to mitigate, adapt, and reduce the effect of climate change in their respective communities; tree planting, and introduction of clean water.

Since 2023, the project “Community actors coming together to address climate change in Tanzania” has reached around 150 families from Mpugusu and KISA Mbeya Tanzania. The intervention focused on building the capacities of smallholder farmers (youth and households) to mitigate, adapt, and reduce the effect of climate change in their respective communities; tree planting, and introduction of clean water.

Climate Actions – Touba Mali
Responding to Laudato Si through Sustainable Shea Production and Resilience Building in Touba, Diocese of San, Mali.
The intervention focused on building the capacities of 50 people (25 couples) to mitigate, adapt, and reduce the effect of climate change through the shea value chain.
